Delete your account

Request deletion by email

Email privacy@sidemissions.app from the address linked to your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We verify the request and schedule your account for deletion.

If you cannot email from your account address, include enough detail for us to identify your account.

In the app

Open SideMissions, go to Settings, and under Account actions choose Delete account, then confirm. You are signed out immediately, you can no longer sign in, and your account and data are scheduled for deletion.

What gets deleted

Your account and profile, journeys where you are the host, your memberships, and the proof media and journey pictures you uploaded.

In journeys hosted by other people, we remove your membership, challenges you authored, challenges personally assigned to you, your proofs, and associated media. The journey and other members' content remain.

Media deletion without deleting your profile

You can also ask us to delete specific uploaded media, such as proof photos, proof videos, or journey pictures, without deleting your whole account or profile.

Email privacy@sidemissions.app with enough detail to identify the media, for example the journey name, challenge name, approximate upload date, and the account email address. We will review the request and remove the media where possible.

Timing

Sign-in is blocked and sessions are revoked immediately. After a 30-day recovery period, the scheduled purge permanently removes the live account data. Residual copies can remain in encrypted backups for up to another 35 days and are then removed by normal rotation.

You can withdraw the deletion request during the 30-day recovery period by emailing privacy@sidemissions.app from the address linked to your account with the subject "Cancel account deletion". After permanent deletion, recovery is no longer possible.
